Bettie J. Harkey, age 75, of Jacksonville, Arkansas entered into her heavenly home on May 6, 2020. She had been retired for many years. Bettie gave freely of her time to others and enjoyed volunteering. She was actively involved in her church, volunteering during elections and working at the Little Rock AFB where she received numerous volunteer awards from the LRAFB, the most recent at the end of 2019. She also enjoyed her time and fellowship with her embroidery club.
Bettie is preceded in death by her husband James L. Harkey, son James D. (Danny) Harkey, and her parents. She is survived by her daughters Laura Long and spouse Adam, grandchildren Ethan and Macey of Bauxite; Susan Harkey and granddaughter Ansley of Little Rock. Bettie is also survived by her loving companion Phillip McEnany of Jacksonville, her dog Pacer, numerous nieces and nephews and a host of special friends.
The family extends a special thank you to the nursing staff at Robinson Nursing Center in North Little Rock. “Thank you for taking such good care of Bettie and your encouragement”.
At Bettie’s request, graveside services are private. Bettie will be entombed with her husband James L. Harkey at Rest Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum in North Little Rock, AR.
