Bettie Lou Rittenberry, 86, of Arkadelphia, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, June 28, 2023, at CHI St. Vincent Hospital in Hot Springs, Arkansas.
She was born January 30, 1937, in Day, Arkansas, to Frank Hardaway and Earnie McCarther Hardaway.
Bettie was a graduate of The Arkadelphia High School Class of 1954. She later went on to receive her Bachelors and Masters degrees from Henderson State Teachers College.
She was an avid exerciser at Foundation Fitness in Arkadelphia. She was also a founding member of CRS Supper Club.
Bettie was a member of St. Andrews United Methodist Church in Arkadelphia, and she loved Hollywood United Methodist Church in Hollywood, Arkansas.
In her free time, Bettie loved going on cruises and traveling.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Harry Rittenberry and her siblings: Gwen Hall, Lowell Hardaway, Fred Hardaway, Joe Roy Hardaway, Russell Hardaway and Jack Hardaway.
Left to cherish her memory are her sister: Winnie White Hare of Arkadelphia; her cat furchildren: Dash and Harper; six nieces, nine nephews and more great nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Clark County Humane Society.
