Bessie Mae Atterberry

Lovingly surrounded by her family, Bessie Mae Atterberry, 95, of Cabot, found rest in the arms of Jesus on July 7, 2022.

Bessie was born to Luther and Sally Adamson, in Forrest City, Arkansas, June 2, 1927 (or June 12th if you take a peek at her birth certificate). She was married to Willie E. Atterberry in May of 1945 when he returned from WWII, and she loved him faithfully until his death in June of 1996. They raised their family in North Little Rock, Arkansas.

Bessie was the mother of two sons and two daughters, grandmother of five, and great-grandmother of eight. She was an amazing cook and a talented seamstress, a writer and an avid reader. She loved to make crafts, play Solitaire, solve word puzzles, drink strawberry milk shakes, and play with all her kids. She loved Jesus and she loved her family more than anything in this world. That is what she would really want you to remember.

Bessie is preceded in death by her husband, Willie E. Atterberry, two sons: Randy Atterberry and Larry Atterberry, and great-granddaughter Evelyn Simpson. She is survived by her daughters and their husbands: Barbara Crafton (Lanny) of Cabot and Rose Simpson (Billy) of Sherwood; Grandchildren: Lisa Hankins (Jimmy), Mandy Crafton Coombe, Sarah Glanert, Chris Atterberry, and Brandon Simpson (Claire); Great Grandchildren: Bailey Hankins, Ashlee McCoy (Charlie), Austin Coombe, Anna Claire Coombe, Mia Crafton, Cole Glanert, Gage Hankins, and Emerson Simpson.

Graveside services will be held 10am, July 12 at Edgewood Cemetery Mausoleums, 4200 Division Street, North Little Rock, NLR, Ar.
