Bertha Amanda Schmidt Jackson, 99, of Sherwood passed away Saturday, September 10, 2011 at Woodland Hills of Jacksonville. She was born April 27, 1912 in Trabra, Germany to Otto and Ottilia Schmidt.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" O. Jackson; her parents; two brothers, Otto and Herman Schmidt; two sisters, Ella Schmidt Gangluff and Paula Schmidt Kerner all of Sherwood. She is survived by her daughter, Wilma Jean Jackson Beall and husband, Bill of Sherwood; granddaughter, Julia Charles; grandson, Jason Beall; great-grandson, Christopher Charles and his wife, Adriana; two great-grandchildren, Alyssa and Brenden Charles, all of Sherwood; and a host of nephews, nieces and friends.
Memorials may be made to Arkansas Hospice, #14 Parkstone Circle, North Little Rock, Arkansas 72116.
A graveside service will be held 10:00 a.m., Tuesday at Gravel Ridge Cemetery with Rev. Raymond Ison officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Monday at North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main St., 758-1170. Online obituary and guest registry at www.nlrfh.com.
