Berry Delmon Johnson, 70, of Little Rock passed away Thursday, September 29, 2011. He was born May 17, 1941 in El Dorado, Arkansas to the late Delmon and Marie Embery Johnson. He graduated valedictorian in 1959 from Strong High School and worked for Prescolite Manufacuring of El Dorado and then moved to San Leandro, California in 1961. He went to work for Arkansas State Revenue Department in Little Rock in 1970, where he retired in 2007. Berry was a member of MENSA, loved wolves, golf, pool, poker and his family.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth M. Shumaker Johnson, of Little Rock, whom he married in 1965; children, Melanie Johnson-Moxley and husband, David, of Columbia, Missouri, Brent Johnson, of Little Rock and Christopher Johnson, of Sherwood; granddaughter, Stacey Nichole Johnson, of Maumelle; brother, Bruce Johnson and wife Janet, of Van Buren; and two sisters, Agnes Johnson-Webb and husband, Wesley and Betty Johnson-Sturdivant, of El Dorado. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Kristen Taylor Johnson.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Tuesday in the North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Arkansas Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday at the funeral home, 1921 Main St., 758-1170. Online obituary and guest registry at www.nlrfh.com.
