Bernie Homer Young, of North Little Rock passed away Monday, October 15, 2007. He was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a U. S. Army World War II veteran, a manager of Bush-Caldwell Sporting Goods, and retired from the Pulaski County Tax Collector?s Office. He was of the Baptist faith and an avid landscaper.
He is survived by three daughters, Marty Cossey (George), of Conway, Carolyn Chudy, of North Little Rock and Brenda Marshall (Kyle), of Little Rock; step-son, Herman Branton (Sandra) of North Little Rock; four granddaughters, Kelly Gustavus (Donald), Stephanie Bramlett (John), Shelly Gross (Wes) and Melissa Hearald (Jeffery); two grandsons, Brent Short (Michele) and Jonathan Chudy; brother, Jim Young (Judy); niece, Susan Allen (Scott); nephew, David Young; and great-grandchildren, Steve and Dustin Short and Peyton Hearald. He was preceded in death by his parents, H.G. and Linnie Young; sister, Norma Levy, two wives, Louise Young and Colleen Young; a grandson, Lance Gaines.
The family wishes to express a special thanks to his caregivers, Tammie Cotton, Rhoda Haney, Tanya Shepard and appreciation to Arkansas Hospice.
A graveside service will be held 11:00 A.M., Thursday at Pinecrest Memorial Park. Following the service the family will receive friends at the home of Kelly and Donald Gustavus.
