Bernice Velma Cook, age 86, a life long resident of Bismarck, died Thursday, January 17, 2008. She was born August 3, 1921 the daughter of Robert and Carrie Whitley Burroughs. She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, O'Neal Cook. She was a retired math teacher at Bismarck High School with over 25 years of service. She was a life long member of her beloved Bismarck United Methodist Church. Mrs. Cook loved gardening, walking, and visiting with her friends and family.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Debbie Cook of Bismarck, one daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Doug Green of Bismarck, two grandsons, Chad Green of Fayetteville, AR and Brad Green of Houston, TX, two brothers and sisters-in-law Calvin and Ann Burroughs of Hot Springs and Maurice and Jeanne Burroughs of North Little Rock.
Funeral services will be 2 PM Sunday in the Bismarck United Methodist Church with Rev. Gail Baldwin officiating with burial in the Old Bismarck Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Saturday in the Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home in Arkadelphia. Memorials may be made to the Bismarck United Methodist Church.
Pallbearers will be Gary, Tim, and Randy Burroughs, Charlie Horton, Frank Stivers, and Frank Kemp.
