Chief Warrant Officer 4 (Ret) Bennie Dial Wilson, 79, of Beebe, Arkansas, went to be with his Lord the 3rd of May, 2010. Born May 6, 1930 in Beebe, he was the son of Dial and Anna Lee Wilson.
He graduated from Beebe High School in 1948, attended and graduated from Hendrix College in 1953. He joined the Arkansas Army National Guard in 1948 at the age of seventeen where he served his country for forty-two years. He rose to the rank of Sergeant Major before receiving his Warrant Officer Commission and achieving the rank of Chief Warrant Officer 4 before his retirement in June, 1990. He was a member of the Beebe First United Methodist Church, Past Master of the Beebe Masonic Lodge #145, and a 32nd Degree Mason.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Kenny W. Hartwick, and a granddaughter, Kendal Kaye Hartwick.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-seven years, Lorraine Teague Wilson of Beebe; three daughters, Lynn Watkins and her husband, Henry of O'Fallon, Missouri, Debra Thomas and her husband, Corky of Beebe, and Diana Hartwick of Vilonia; one sister, Frances Jenkins, and her husband Larry of Floyd; five grandchildren, Kara Hartwick, Kyle Hartwick, Alyson Watkins, Bailey Thomas and Shelbie Thomas; and two great-grandchildren, Kade and Khloe Hartwick; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 6, 2010, at Beebe First United Methodist Church. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, 302 N. Main, Beebe, AR 72012.
