Bennie W. Mack, age 83, of Glenwood, died Monday, December 5, 2011. He was born on December 2, 1928, at Daisy, the son of John Payton Mack and Lucinda Rebecca Jane Ray Mack. He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Sheila Davis; his grandson, Dustin Cox; and all of his brothers and sisters. Bennie lived in Alexandria, Indiana for 55 years, before moving to Glenwood three years ago. He was the owner and operator of Bennie Mack Logging Company for over 30 years; was a member of the Alexandria Christian Congregation Church; a member of the Buffalo Gap Masonic Lodge #484 at Langley; and the Alexandria Chapter and Council. He was an avid NFL and NASCAR enthusiast, he loved being with friends and family, and he enjoyed life abundantly. He is survived by his wife, Joy Cowart Mack of Glenwood; one son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Debbie Mack of Glenwood; three grandchildren, Gregg Mack, Angie Nance and Tonya Ledbetter; four great-grandchildren, Lacy Mack, Haley Mack, Kelsey Nance and Shyenne Nance; and one great-great-grandchild, Alexis Reese Orrell. Services will be held at 5:30 PM, Wednesday, December 7, 2011, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Glenwood with Bro. Gene Graves officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday, 6:00 PM until 7:00 PM, immediately following the services at the funeral home. There will a private family interment held in the Park View Cemetery in Alexandria, Indiana at 10:00 AM, Saturday, December 10, 2011 . Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
