Bennie Manning

Bennie J. Manning, Sr., 85, of North Little Rock passed away Monday, March 23, 2015. He was born July 8, 1929 in Searcy, Arkansas to Charlie and Nell Putman Manning.
He was a United States Navy veteran of the Korean War serving on the USS St. Paul (CA 73). He retired from Union Pacific Railroad with over 20 years of service and was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church in North Little Rock.
He is survived by his children, Joe (Gloria) Manning, Mike Manning, of Jacksonville, Russ (Lena) Manning, of Jonesboro, Scott (Mary) Manning, of North Little Rock and Sandy (Wendell) Patrick of Rison; eleven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two brothers, James Manning of North Little Rock and Pat Fox, of Bradford. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, June Manning.
Funeral services will be held at 8:30 a.m., Friday, March 27th at Smith - North Little Rock Funeral Home. Burial will be in Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home. Online obituary at www.SmithFamilyCares.com .
