Bennie "Ben" Haynes Henley, 86, of Mabelvale, passed away Wednesday, February 12, 2014. He was born in Morrilton to Benjamin Franklin Henley and Naomi Dexter Haynes Henley and was a member of the Church of Christ. He was U.S. Army veteran of WWII and retired from Baptist Medical Center.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Verna Justus Henley; children, Franklin Lee Henley (Vicki) of Little Rock, Elaina Carol Riddle (C.R.) of Cabool, Missouri, Karen E. Akins (Bill) of Benton, Nelson Red of Atlanta, Georgia and Lee Ann Houchens (Todd) of Las Vegas, Nevada; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Bobbie Jewel Henley.
Visitation will be this evening, Thursday, February 13 from 6-8 p.m. at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.). Services will be Friday, February 14 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home, officiated by Dr. Robbie Horne, followed by interment with Military Honors at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock.
