Bennett Thompson,

Bennett Thompson, 45, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at his residence. Born in Little Rock on January 4, 1965, he was the son of Peggy Sue Thompson and the late Bennett Harold Thompson, Sr. He was a 1983 graduate of Catholic High School for Boys and attended Memphis State University where he was a member of Lambda Beta Chi fraternity. Bennett served honorably in the United States Air Force in Germany for two years and then at the NORAD facility in Colorado. After his discharge from the service, he spent time in Florida working in information technology. He returned to Little Rock four years ago, and most recently, had been working with his mother, Peggy Thompson, in the family business, A1 Thompson Driving School.
Bennett loved being with friends and family. He had a special gift for teaching children to drive and was brilliant with computers. He loved people and worked hard to help them be the best that they could be. Bennett will be remembered for his sense of humor and quick wit, and his willingness to give everything he had to friends in need. He always helped others, expecting nothing in return, and enjoyed volunteering at the Quapaw Quarter United Methodist Church Food Pantry every week.
In addition to his father, Bennett was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, TJ and Cleo Thompson and his maternal grandmother, Katheryn McKinnon. He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Bill and Peggy Thompson Brown of Little Rock; his maternal grandfather, Jim McKinnon of Hot Springs Village; brother and sister-in-law, Brock and Niki Thompson, sister and brother-in-law, Beth and Dave Bisceglia, all of Little Rock; sister and brother-in-law, Britney and Brent Bouldin of Charlotte, North Carolina; five nieces, Ella and Emerson Thompson, Katheryn Bisceglia, Bailey and Brooklyn Bouldin; and three nephews, Austin and Brandon Bisceglia and Evan Thompson.
A celebration of Bennett's life will be held on Monday, November 29 at 10:00 a.m. at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.), followed by interment with Military Honors at Forest Hills Memorial Park in Alexander. Visitation will be Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Quapaw Quarter United Methodist Church Food Pantry, 1601 South Louisiana Street, Little Rock, AR 72206.
