Barbara Ruth Lawrence

On Thursday, June 3, 2021, Ruth Lawrence went to be with her Lord at the age of 82. She was born to the late Arthur and Marie Jeffries in Bonifay, Florida on May 21, 1939. She graduated from Crestview High School in Florida in 1956.

On Easter Sunday, April 17, 1960, she married her true love, Laymon Lawrence, in a ceremony in Crestview. They made their home in Arkansas for the remainder of her life.

Ruth, better known as Grammy, leaves a host of family and friends to celebrate her life: her loving and devoted husband, Laymon Lawrence; her beloved daughters and sons-in-law, Paula and Todd Lovell of Batesville, Lamona and Tim Gunter of Maumelle, and Julie and Michael Triplett of Richmond, Virginia; her grandchildren, Christy Lovell, Justin and Laura Lovell, and Will Triplett; her great-grandson, JT Lovell; her sister, Carolyn Senterfitt of Opp, Alabama; along with many extended family members and friends. She also deeply loved her Park Hill Baptist Church family and members of the Herndon-Ward-Hill Sunday School class.

Her greatest joy was being a homemaker and raising her three daughters. She enjoyed sitting at the sewing machine making clothes for them and many others. She also worked for a time as a clerk at the North Little Rock City Utilities office.

Grammy was a member of Park Hill Baptist Church for 46 years where she served as a Sunday School teacher, Youth Choir “Mom”, and Care Group Leader.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 6, 2021 from 5:00-7:00 pm at Park Hill Baptist Church in North Little Rock. Her funeral service will be at 10:00 am on Monday, June 7, 2021, also at Park Hill Baptist Church. Her graveside service will be held at Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector, Arkansas at 4:00 pm the same day.
