Barbara Battle Rhodes, 92, of Arkadelphia, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, July 2, 2023.

 

She was born November 20, 1930, in Wrightsville, Georgia to Delma Howell Mayo and Evelyn Kennedy Mayo.

 

Barbara was a retired school teacher in Malvern, Arkansas, and a member of First United Methodist Church in Malvern and Arkadelphia, Arkansas.

 

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Irwin Battle, her second husband, Bob Rhodes, her brother, Delma Howell Mayo, Jr., and grandsons Derrick Clark Stone and Nicholas Hunter Battle.  

 

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Yvonne (John) Battle Wright of Greenville, South Carolina, Helene Stone of Arkadelphia, Arkansas,  Hunter (Cathy) Battle of Bay City, Texas, Dean (Linda) Battle of Dallas, Texas, Carolyn (Al)  Laser of Franklin, Tennessee; grandchildren, Paul Wright (Natalia), Katy Wright, Neeley (Ben) Vance, Shawn (Pearl) Stone, Shea (Constance) Stone, Sarah (Brandon) Lobell, Matthew Battle, Taylor Battle, Kohler (Morgan) Battle, Madeline Battle, Demi Battle, Sarah Laser, Brooks (Sherry) Laser and Joshua Laser; great-grandchildren, Parker Rogers, Cale Vance, Alley Vance, Mckenzie Yeagle, Declan Stone, Will Stone, Luke Stone, Logan Stone, Cameron Hamilton, Zoe Lobell, Presley Lobell,  Liv Lobell, Lane Laser, Matthew Wright and Alyssa Wright; and brother-in-law Ray (Sally) Battle.  

 

Funeral Services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 5, 2023 at 1st United Methodist Church in Arkadelphia. Arkansas, with burial in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens.

 

Arrangements are entrusted to Ruggles Wilcox Funeral Home, 517 Clay Street, Arkadelphia, Arkansas 71923.
