Barbara Jane Groll Kennemur

Barbara Jane Groll Kennemur, 96 of Arlington, TX, passed away peacefully September 10, 2020. She was born May 26, 1924 in Marion, Ohio to Arden Richard Groll and Sara Jane Melvin Groll.

Barbara attended Grant School of Nursing in Columbus, Ohio and took a six month course at Children’s Hospital of Michigan. She earned a Diploma Degree as a Registered Nurse. She also served as a 1st Lieutenant in the United States Army Nurse Corp during the Korean War at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas where she met the love of her life.

Barbara is survived by her children, James Edward Kennemur and wife Barbara of Houston, Texas, Janie Kennemur Folsom and husband Bob of Arlington, Texas and son-in law Tom Nicol of Dallas, Texas well as 6 grandchildren 6 great-grandchildren and other extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles Edward Kennemur; her daughter, Julia Ann Kennemur Nicol, brothers Richard Arden Groll, Jr and Charles William Groll.

A graveside service will be held at 11 am Saturday June 4, 2022 at Morgan Cemetery in Little Rock, Arkansas. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made for treatment of wounded soldiers at Brooke Army Medical Center, 3551 Roger Brooke Drive, Fort Sam Houston, TX 78234; 210-916-5131.
