Barbara Johnson

Barbara Jane Johnson, 85, of Hot Springs, Arkansas passed away January 24, 2022.  She was born in Little Rock on April 24, 1936 to Glenn Rapier and Alpha Shepard.

Barbara loved the Lord and was a member of Parkview United Methodist Church.  She cherished her family and her grandchildren were her pride and joy.  Vacations to the beach in Florida and to Branson were some of her favorite times spent with family.  Barbara enjoyed watching baseball and was a St. Louis Cardinals fan.  Reading was a favorite hobby and she liked to read books written by women authors, especially Little House on the Prairie.  Freddie Fender and Elvis were her favorite singers.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her son, Tracy Johnson and his wife Margaret of Hot Springs, Arkansas; daughter, Debbie Simmons of Farmington, Arkansas; grandchildren:   David Johnson and his wife Ashley and Crystal Mason; great-grandchildren:  Makenzie Johnson and Greenly Lee; brother, Kenny Rapier and his wife Barbara of Texas; and many family members and friends who love Barbara and will miss her always.

Visitation will be held from 12:30-1:30 PM, Thursday, January 27, followed by funeral service, officiated by Rev. Shari Day, at 1:30 PM, at Smith-Benton Funeral Home, 322 N. Market Street, Benton, Arkansas.  Burial following at Pinecrest Memorial Park.  Family requests masks be worn by all in attendance.
