Barbara Hulsey, age 80, of Mount Ida, passed away on Tuesday, June 13, 2023.
She was born on February 6, 1943, in Murfreesboro, the daughter of Earl and Lena Cotton Funderburk. On January 26, 1962, she married the true love of her life, William “Sonny” Hulsey, who preceded her in death on September 5, 2004. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Vickie Hulsey Harmon, and her parents.
Barbara was a lifelong Missionary Baptist in her faith and took every opportunity she would have to share her love for God and his word. She was a homemaker, always dedicated to taking care of her family and for many years was the bookkeeper for the family business. Barbara was an extremely gifted and talented artist, who loved painting portraits, landscapes, and sometimes just enjoyed doodling and coming up with special art projects that people still admire today.
Above all, Barbara was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who loved her family with all her heart. She was not just a mother to her two daughters but also to all the children who came to her home, always making sure they were fed, loved, and prayed over. Barbara’s greatest joy in life was spending time with her family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, but she has left her family with so many special memories to carry on in each of their hearts.
Barbara is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Jeanine and Luther Snow of Mount Ida; three grandchildren, Thomas Harmon, William Snow and his wife, Jess, and Karissa Snow; two great-grandchildren, Libby Snow and Georgie Snow; her sister and brother-in-law, Peggy and Paul Hamilton of Hot Springs; her loving and constant companion, her precious dog, Lola; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, June 20, 2023, in the Smith Family Funeral Home Chapel-Glenwood with Bro. Arlie Francis officiating.
Visitation will be held Monday, 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, in the Smith Family Funeral Home Chapel-Glenwood, 209 North Third Street, Glenwood, Arkansas 71943.
