Barbara "Bobbie" Jean Minton Hill Holmes, 76, of Hazen went to be with the Lord on Thursday evening August 16, 2018. She was a retired school teacher having taught in both Cabot and Hazen school districts. She was very active in her community by serving as a member of the Oak Grove Extension Homemakers Club. One of her greatest loves was serving the Lord at Center Point Missionary Baptist Church. As a faithful member, Barbara sang in the choir, taught the Senior Adult Ladies Sunday School class, and assisted with many other church functions. Her hobbies included cooking, sewing, reading, working all types of puzzles, playing games, and gardening. She also loved the outdoors, traveling, and taking care of her dogs. Most of all, Barbara was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister, and friend. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents Warren "Dub" and Laverne Minton of Lonoke, her late husband Grover "Tossy" Hill also of Lonoke, and a great granddaughter, Eden Werner of Ward. Left to cherish her memory are the following: her husband, Tommy Holmes of Hazen; 4 children: Rita House (Terry) of Ward, Lynne Eanes (Wade) of Cabot, Langiston Hill (Karen) of Wasilla, Alaska, and Holly Nabours (James) of Vinton, Louisiana; 2 step-children Rick Holmes (Vickie) and Kathy Simmons (Ronnie) of Hazen; 14 grandchildren: Amanda Rushin (Phil), Tiffany Camp (Matt), Leslie Stanley (Dave), Trey Hill (Alyssa), Mallory Pate (Jared), Tate House, Alex Eanes (Jordan), Kassidy Barber (Travis), Monica Mackrill (Kruise), and her Louisiana grandbabies Elizabeth, Jackson, Elaina, Lesley, and Micah Nabours; 3 step-grandchildren Jason Simmons (Jenny), Josh Simmons (Kim), and Jake Holmes (Laura) of Hazen; 9 great grandchildren Whitney Zeman (Travis), Kane Rushin, Gabriel, Gracie, Lilah, and Jude Stanley, Kimber Werner, Olivia and Dane Barber, and two on the way; 4 step-great grandchildren Ethan, Owen, and Jace Simmons, Jeb and Nate Holmes, and one on the way; 2 great-great grandchildren Evelynn and Eyla Zeman; 4 sisters: Annette Bailey (Marvin), Leola Galloway (Horace), Viola Martin (Ralph), and Joann Hill, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Visitation will be on Monday, August 20, from 6-8 p.m. at Westbrook Funeral Home in Beebe. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, August 21, at 2 p.m. at Center Point Missionary Baptist Church in Hazen. There will be an additional viewing from 12-1:30 p.m. prior to the funeral services.
