Barbara Ann Darnell

Barbara Ann Darnell, 77, of Little Rock, Arkansas passed away February 20, 2022.  She was born August 13, 1944 in North Little Rock, Arkansas to the late Benny Cook and Evelyn (Guess) Dobbs.

Barbara cherished her family.  She always put others first and never had a bad word to say about anyone.  Everyone who knew Barbara loved her.  Barbara enjoyed dancing, roller skating, fishing, and going out to the woods to hunt (even though she packed a good book for reading).  Barbara had an amazing outlook of life.  When fighting for her life in the hospital, she asked to go home to spend her last days.  While there, Barbara laughed harder than ever before, enjoyed the company of her family and friends, played marbles and dominoes, ordered pizza, and cherished every moment.  She was one in a million.

Preceding Barbara in death are her parents; life partner, John Rushing; siblings:  Dot O’Bar, Thelma Bixler, Buddy Cook, Betty Cruse, and Geraldine Worstell.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory five children:  Sam Grissom, Jr. (Tasha), James “Richie” Grissom, Rita Smith, Chuck Bajorek (Sandra), and Mary Minton; nine grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; sister, Eva Peeks; and many family members and friends who love Barbara and will miss her always.

Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, February 23, at Fraternal Order of Eagles, 6200 Aerie Street, Little Rock, Arkansas.  Lunch will be provided following the service.
