Benoid Wright "Bill" Hornaday age 89 of Arkadelphia died on May 10, 2009. He was born to Nora and John W. Hornaday in Fordyce on January 4, 1920. He retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Company after 36 years. First Baptist Church of Arkadelphia served as his church home. He served in World War II Europen Theatre, making a beached landing in La Harve, France on D-Day. He was preceded in death by his wife Helen Marshall Hornaday.
He is survived by his daughter, Dianne Mizell and her husband Joe of Little Rock, two grandchildren, Mark Mizell of Little Rock and Molly Steely and her husband Dr. Don Steely of Conway. He was blessed to enjoy three great grandchildren, Andrew, Madeline, and Elizabeth Steely all of Conway. Also surviving him are one brother, Don Hornaday of Little Rock and one sister, Mrs. Joyce Packard of Waco, Texas, and many nieces and nephews. He will be sadly missed.
Funeral services will be 2 P.M. Wednesday at the Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Chapel with Dr. Lee McGlone officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens.Visitation will be from 1 P.M. Wednesday until service time at the funeral home
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Arkadelphia.
