Azalee Duke age 89 of Arkadelphia died Saturday, October 4, 2008 in Hot Springs. She was born October 7, 1918 in Glenwood, Arkansas the daughter of the late Arthur B. and Flora Sigman Tallant. Mrs. Duke was a retired schoolteacher having taught in the Arkadelphia School System for many years. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Retired Teacher's Association and an active genealogist. She was the widow of Oscar Duke.

Survivors include two sons, Stephen O. Duke of Oxford, Mississippi; Stanley H. Duke of Madison, Wisconsin; one brother, Max Tallant of Texas; three sisters, Geneva Allen of Hot Springs; Marie Groody of Denver, Colorado; Faye Borland of Arkadelphia; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at First Presbyterian Church with Rev Kendal Land officiating. Interment will be 1:00 PM Tuesday in the Little Rock National Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Monday at the Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church.
