Austin Ellis

Austin B. Ellis (Abe), 89, of Sherwood, passed into the embrace of his Lord and Savior on Saturday, June 12, 2010. He was born March 31, 1921 in Deann, Arkansas the son of the late Burton John and Molly Burke Ellis. He was a believer in Jesus Christ and a member of Immanuel Baptist Church of Little Rock since 1974. He belonged to the Masonic Lodge of North Little Rock and was a WWII U.S. Army Veteran.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Edith (Claypool) Ellis of Sherwood; sons, Steven John Ellis and Sharon of Dallas, Texas; Gregory Don Ellis and Brett of Johnson City, Tennessee; brothers, P.J. Ellis of Little Rock and Doyle Ellis of North Little Rock. He was preceded in death by brother Clovis Ellis and sisters, Dorothy Mae Akins and Pearl Gill.
Memorials may be made to Immanuel Baptist Church Benevolence Fund. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday at Immanuel Baptist Church of Little Rock. Burial will be in Rest Hills Memorial Park.
Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday at North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main Street - 501- 758-1170.
