Augustine Zakrzewski

Augustine (Gussie) Zakrzewski, 69, of North Little Rock passed away peacefully in her home October 1, 2010 with her family at her bedside after a greater than four year courageous battle with cancer. Her courage and strength were an inspiration to all who knew her. She was a loving wife and mother who always put her family first.
She leaves behind her devoted husband of 48 years, Alois (Louie) Zakrzewski and children, Rose Ann (Philip) Hodges of Cabot, Carolyn Zakrzewski of Maumelle and Michael (Chana) Zakrzewski of North Little Rock. She also leaves behind her sister, Constance Ryan of North Little Rock, Joann (Lester) Reppond of Mayflower, Marion Zajac of North Little Rock and sister-in-law, Barbara Zajac of Maumelle along with a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jake and Rosie Zajac along with brothers, Ted and Al Zajac.
Although she was never blessed with grandchildren, she was blessed with numerous grand-dogs whom she loved dearly.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Nancy Rector, Dr. Lawrence Mendelsohn and his staff and Baptist Hospice for their loving care provided. She always knew she was being well cared for.
In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in her honor to St. Mary's Catholic Church, 1518 Parker Street, North Little Rock, Arkansas 72114.
Mass of Christian burial will be held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Burial will be in Immaculate Heart of Mary Cemetery. A vigil service will be held 7:00 p.m., Monday at North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main St., 758-1170. Online obituary and guest registry at www.nlrfh.com.
