Augustine Hess,
Augustine "Gus" Hess, Sr., 82, of Mayflower passed away Sunday, November 8, 2009. He was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church, and a 4th degree member with the Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Josephine P. Hess, of Mayflower; two sons, Augustine Thomas Hess, Jr., of Boise, Idaho and LeRoy Hess, of Conway; two daughters, Loretta Caldwell, of North Little Rock and JoAnn Porter, of Benton; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Rose Schlatterer, of North Little Rock and brother, Ed Hess, of Conway.
Mass of Christian burial will be held 9:30 a.m., Thursday at St. Anne Catholic Church. Burial will be in Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 to 6:00 p.m., Wednesday followed by a rosary service at North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main St., 758-1170. Online obituary and guest register at www.nlrfh.com.
