Audrey Nadine Sessions Faughn, 89, of Little Rock, died Thursday, January 8, 2009.
Born December 23, 1919 in Mabelvale, she was the daughter of William Jefferson and Josie Mitchell Sessions. She graduated from Little Rock High and Little Rock Junior College and was employed by Home Insurance Company as an administrative secretary for 38 years. She was a member of the Sardis Home Extension Club, Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post 2256 of Benton, Ladies Auxiliary of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie #60 of Little Rock, and actively contributed to many organizations that were near and dear to her heart. She was also a board member of McPherson Cemetery Association where she served as secretary-treasurer for many years. Audrey was very passionate about the causes she contributed to.
Audrey was a longtime member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Little Rock. After moving to Saline County, she attended services at East End Baptist Church and at Sardis United Methodist Church, where she found her church home in the community.
Audrey loved life and family to the fullest. She enjoyed ballroom dancing with the late Willard Shearon, who was her special friend of many years. After his passing, she slowly began declining her friends' invitations to attend their normal Friday and Saturday night dancing functions. She always stated that a lady should not attend such functions without an escort, and she was a lady in every way.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Guy Raymond Sessions. She is survived by two brothers, Doyle B. Sessions of Birmingham, Alabama and Hubert C. Sessions of Little Rock; a step-daughter, Sheila Lee Riddle of Vilonia; two step-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
