Auda Lee Davis Brite, 91, of Jacksonville, Florida, formerly of Cabot, Arkansas, was reunited with her Lord and Savior, and her adoring husband, Charles “Charlie” Forsyth Brite, on December 28, 2023. She died peacefully and loved.
Auda is survived by her only daughter, Regina Allen (Kenneth) of Jacksonville, Florida; grandchildren, Ross Allen (Anna) of Richmond, Virginia, Tate Allen (Chelsea) and Sarah Allen of Jacksonville, Florida; great-grandchildren, Catherine Foster and Ward Foster (Sarah); Halen Allen (Tate); and Charlotte Ross Allen (Ross); and many cousins, dear friends, and faithful neighbors. She was a wonderful, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.
As a military spouse, she moved with Charlie to various Air Force bases throughout the Southeastern United States, caring for Regina while he was deployed, often overseas. When Charlie retired from the Air Force, he became an air traffic controller for the Federal Aviation Administration in Little Rock, Arkansas, and Auda, Charlie and Regina settled in Cabot, Arkansas. Auda loved Cabot, and her home state of Arkansas, believing it to be the most beautiful state in the Union, “The Natural State.” She spent many, many happy years there as a member of First Assembly of God Church in North Little Rock, where she never missed a Sunday, watching Charlie sing in the choir with pride and visiting with her friends.
Later in life, she and Charlie moved to Jacksonville, Florida to be close to her daughter and grandchildren, but still took the Arkansas Gazette daily. During her final years in Jacksonville, her family grew with the birth of her great-grandchildren, whom she loved and adored with all her heart, reveling in each milestone, and requesting pictures and videos daily. She shared her love for Christ with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, helping them build a strong foundation of faith by singing “Jesus Loves Me” in her sweet baby-cooing voice and passing along clippings of inspirational scripture. Watching them grow and play brought her unimaginable joy in the twilight of her life. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
