Atha Manasco, age 89 of Sherwood, passed away peacefully on March 25, 2014. She was born on September 27, 1924, in Clarkston, Kentucky; she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey (Dorothy Skaggs) Murray and Jimmy Williams.

Atha excelled at more than one career in her lifetime, including accounting and retail fashion. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and enjoyed cooking bountiful meals and sewing one-of-a-kind garments with love for her family and friends. She came alive on the dance floor as she stepped to the music.

She is preceded in death by her parents; three brothers Gene, Wayne, and Edwin Murray; a sister Burnette Wortham; and her husband Homer Manasco.

Survivors include her two daughters, Mrs. Skip (Mary Lou Ondek) Leonard of IL and Mrs. Ralph (Darla Ator) Horton of Sherwood; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren; three stepdaughters, Dorothy, Bonnie and Nancy; two sisters, Joyce Gelsthorpe of IL and Ronella Taylor of KY; a special sister -in-law DeAnn Murray of AR; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Thursday, March 27, 2014, from 6:00 p.m. until the time of the Rosary at 7:00 p.m. both at Huson Funeral Home Chapel in Sherwood.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 28, 2014 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in North Little Rock with burial following at Rest Hills Memorial Park Cemetery.
