Astor Crow, age 91, of Daisy, died Tuesday, March 8, 2011. He was born on June 13, 1919, at Daisy, the son of John Thomas Crow and Etter Stevens Crow. On May 5, 1940, he was married to Blanch Tedder. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Elbridge Crow, Corvin Crow and Alfonso Crow; and two sisters, Consula Pounders and Thelma Crow. A lifetime resident of Daisy, he was a member of the Mount Joy Free Will Baptist Church, where he became a deacon in 1954. He was a farmer and raised cattle and chickens. He is survived by his wife Blanch Crow of Daisy; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Kenneth Crow of Daisy and John and Rita Crow of Benton; two grandchildren, Melissa Robertson and David Crow; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, March 12, 2011, in the Mount Joy Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Raymond Dees officiating. Visitation will be held Friday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Mount Joy Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. Pallbearers will be Roy Jones, Charles Jones, Hubert Jones, Tim Simmons, Randy Markham and Kenneth Young. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
