Arvel Norris, 88, of Little Rock, passed away Wednesday, March 10, 2010. Born December 23, 1921 in Newport to Rome and Pearl Smith Norris, he was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II and retired from Windsor Door Company. He was a member of Wakefield First Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Margie Duncan Norris; daughter, Sarah Banks (Jim) of Hensley; son, Donald Norris of Bauxite; grandson, Jason Norris (Karrissa); granddaughters, Jennifer Morrow and Melissa Norris; great-grandsons, Dylan Verdot, Tyler Verdot and Christopher Norris; and great-granddaughters, Olivia Smith and Kinley Morrow. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Mary Hinkson, Hazel Horton, Audrey Brian and Ailene Goldinger; and brothers, Earl Norris, R.D. Norris, Bob Norris, Bill Norris and Jerry Norris.
Services will be held Saturday, March 13 at 2:00 p.m. at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.), followed by interment at Forest Hills Memorial Park in Alexander. Visitation will be Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
