Arture DeBrent Thompson was born June 26, 1978 to Arthur and Velone Thompson. As a child, Arture was very inquisitive, always wanting to know the "why" behind everything. He would always take things apart to put them back together again. It was this quest for curiosity and excellence which allowed him to achieve the rank of Eagle Scout. After graduating from the Arkansas Math and Science School in Hot Springs in 1996, he attended Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. He later enlisted in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged.
Arture was a natural conversationalist and impressed all that he came in contact with. He was extremely organized and task-oriented, always setting high standards in whatever he chose to do. Although Arture knew how to be a follower, he was at his all time best as a leader who could take charge with minimum supervision.
Arture was a very free-spirited person and enjoyed working in a variety of fields. He especially loved working with computers and electronics. His favorite pastime was playing videogames and watching TV. His savvy for good taste in clothes landed him some free-lance modeling opportunities. And most recently, he was employed with Bale Honda and CompUSA.
His life will forever be remembered by his devoted and loving mother, Velone Thompson and her daughter, Ketina (Charles) Hunsucker of Little Rock, Arkansas; his father, Arthur (Sherry) Thompson and his son, Michael (Tara) Thompson and daughters, Kesha Thompson and Courtney Thompson, all of Chicago, Illinois.
His life will also be fondly remembered by his maternal grandfather, Albert Ussery of Little Rock, Arkansas; his paternal grandfather, O.C. Thompson of Florida; special aunts, Marilyn (Timothy) Hopson of Sherwood, Arkansas and Alta Mae (Thomas) Walker of Fordyce, Arkansas. He also leaves a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, cousins and friends.
He was predeceased by grandmothers, Mozetta Bell Ussery and Mattie Hightower Thompson.
