Arlie E. Fisher, 89, of Searcy, Arkansas, died Wednesday, December 17, 2008. Arlie was an Air Force Veteran. He retired from NASA in 1974, and was one of the engineers on Apollo 11. He spent two years with the Peace Corp. in Fiji. Arlie was a graduate of University of Arkansas with a degree in Engineering. He received the National Volunteer Award and loved traveling the world.
Arlie was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Gladys Steininger Fisher; one brother, George Fisher; and his sister, Maxine Kean.
He is survived by one brother, Jim and wife Johnnie Ruth Fisher of Searcy; three nieces and three nephews.
Family will receive friends beginning at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, December 20, 2008 at Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe. Graveside service will follow at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Beebe Cemetery. Memorials may be made to your favorite charity.
