Arlene Tableriou, a beloved matriarch and a beacon of kindness, passed away on October 5, 2024, at the age of 79. Born on August 16, 1945, in Chicago, Illinois, Arlene was known for her beautiful spirit and generous heart. Her remarkable personality made her a cherished figure in the lives of all who knew her.
Arlene retired from the State of Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration.
Arlene's life was characterized by her unwavering dedication to her family. As a wonderful mother and grandmother, she adored her loved ones and enriched their lives with her love and support. Whether she was gardening or dancing, Arlene embraced new experiences with enthusiasm and humility, always caring for others above herself. Her vibrant presence will be deeply missed by those fortunate enough to have known her.
She was a devoted member of the Saint Archangel Michael Serbian Orthodox Church, where she found community and connection. Her faith was an integral part of her life, guiding her actions and relationships.
Arlene is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Shane Broadway; her son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Janae Tableriou, all of Bryant. She also leaves behind her grandsons, Michael (Shelby) Tableriou of Floral, Thomas Tableriou (Stacie) of West Plains, Missouri, and Landon Tableriou of Bryant. Adding to her legacy are her great-grandchildren: Reagan Tableriou, Reece Tableriou, Diesel Dale Gunter, Joseph Sutherland Tableriou, and another great-grandchild on the way, Sophia Agnes Tableriou.
She is survived by her sisters, Roberta Jabcznski of Ft. Myers, Florida, and Angie Dryer of Chicago, as well as her sister-in-law, Collen Kartelija of Chicago. Arlene also leaves behind numerous cherished nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who were like family to her.
Preceding her in death were her son, Robert Michael Tableriou of North Little Rock; her parents, Robert and Mary (Marovich) Kartelija; her sister, Georgene; brothers Greg and Nick; and her sister, Marlene. Additionally, her brothers-in-law Ed Kujawa, Ken Jabczniski, and Tom Dryer all of Chicago, also predeceased her.
A private service for her family was held in her honor. Memorials may be made in Arlene's honor to a charity of your choice.
Arlene Tableriou’s legacy of love, kindness, and selflessness will remain in the hearts of those who loved her. She provided a solid foundation for her family and leaves behind a world that is undoubtedly better for having had her in it.
