Arlene M. Menear, 89, of Little Rock, died August 1, 2010. She was born in Searcy, Arkansas on January 26, 1921 to Forrest Anderson Cox and Callie Sue Jones. After retirement from Baptist Hospital, she worked for Pulaski County Election Commission at Western Hills polls and did volunteer work for Lions World Enterprise for the Blind
She is survived by her son, Gary D. Menear of Little Rock; daughter, Gail Briggs of Virginia; sisters-in-law, Edwina Cox of Little Rock and Marie Cox of California; a host of nieces and nephews and two cats. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Ray Cox, Donald Cox and Wayne Cox; and a sister, Iris Haney.

Visitation will be Wednesday, August 4 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.). Funeral Services will be Thursday, August 5 at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Little Rock Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park in Alexander. Memorials may be made to the Pulaski County Humane Society, 14600 Colonel Glenn Rd, Little Rock, AR 72210.
