Archie C. Linville, age 83, of Norman, passed away on Tuesday, February 9, 2021, after a brief illness.
He was born on January 5, 1938, in Nashville, the son of Miley and Della Martin Linville. He was preceded in death by his son, Greg Linville; his parents; his sister, Inell Linville; and his brothers, Burl Linville, Jerold Linville and Leon Linville.
After high school, he entered the United States Army and proudly served his country in Korea. He spent his working years in pipeline construction and the logging industry. Archie was a humble man whose wealth was in his family, faith and friends. His life was a living example of one of his favorite Bible verses, “Be kind to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you.” He will be greatly missed by all who loved him.
He is survived by a large and loving family, his wife, Jadice Sells Linville; his sons and daughters-in-law, Scott and Michelle Linville and Stan and Sherry Dyke; his grandchildren and their spouses, Tosha and Jason Bosley, Haley Hoffpauir, Hayes and Andrea Linville, Jeremy and Rebecca Dyke and Sheena and Jon Collins; his great-grandchildren, Cloey Bosley, Rayleigh Hoffpauir, River Hoffpauir, Raynie Hoffpauir, Addison Linville, Khaleesi Dyke, Kerrigan Brown and Delaney Brown; his sisters, Jean Read and Magie Worley; and his nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, February 12, 2021, in the Langley Hall Cemetery with Bro. Hayes Linville officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood.
