Much of her childhood and early adult life was spent in Yell County. In the fall of 1949 the Bonners and their three sons moved to Mississippi County, Arkansas to pick cotton. They stayed until 1967 when Belle and Hunter returned, first to Plainview then the following year they moved to Danville where she worked as a secretarial and office support staff person for many years in the Yell County Telephone office. Belle, as she was known to most, was a hard working woman who wanted always to do better, whether picking cotton, sewing, growing flowers and plants, improving her secretarial skills or her education. She started her adult life without a high school education but gained her GED, completed many bookkeeping, and secretarial courses as well as some college course work. Perhaps her most treasured times were spent at the Yell County Telephone Office where she and her great friend Bonnie May shared many good years together. That was also where the staff enjoyed her biscuits on many occasions. She took great pride in being known for her flowers and plants by many in the Danville area. She and Hunter were faithful members of their beloved Danville Methodist Church for as long as health allowed them to attend. Belle moved to North Little Rock in 2002 as her health declined. Family, church and work were her treasures.
