Apostle Walter F. Camp

Walter Franklin Camp was born on January 31st, 1949 in Little Rock, AR at University Hospital. He was the oldest child of Frank Arthur Camp, Jr. and Pearl Ella Camp. He accepted Christ at the age of 12 years old after being miraculously healed from an unknown illness and coma.

Walter pursued knowledge with unwavering passion. He was a pioneer for Hall High School, being a part of the first successful round of the school's desegregation. He was the first black male to graduate from Hendrix College in Conway, AR in 1971, earning a B.A. in Art. He was a member of Alpha Chi, Alpha Tua, Blue Key, and H-Club. He was a three-year letterman on the cross-country team and one of the top graduating cadets in the Hendrix-SCA R.O.T.C program. In 1971, he was commissioned to the U.S. Army as a 2nd Lieutenant where he served for 3 years.

He accepted his calling to ministry in 1975 and began pastoring Rice Memorial Missionary Baptist Church on January 31st, 1988. For several years he was featured on multiple radio programs including "Issues and Answers" and "The Sower Soweth the Word". A few years later, God elevated him to the office of an Apostle. At its inception in 1993, he was appointed as a national Elder for the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship by Bishop Paul S. Morton and wrote weekly for its national publication.

Apostle Camp began publishing weekly Sunday school outlines for all those who desired them, with a deeper look into the scriptures and his own commentaries to help make scripture plain. He continued that work, incorporating two different books and subjects weekly, mailing over 450 copies of the outlines and emailing approximately the same number to pastors, ministers, Sunday school teachers, and fellow believers across this country and abroad. In 2001, he started the Faith and Love Fellowship in which local churches of like minds fellowshipped monthly. In 2004, he became a part of the General Missionary State Convention of Arkansas and discontinued the Faith and Love Fellowship.

Within the Convention, he worked in several auxiliaries, serving first as 2nd Vice President in 2008 and then lst Vice President from 2012 through 2024. He retired from Hawker Beechcraft Corporation (originally known as Arkansas Modification Center) after many years of working as an Aircraft Design Specialist.

Walter departed this life at 6:00 PM on Saturday, January 4th, 2025. He joined his father, Frank A. Camp, Jr., sister, Wilma Joyce Camp Waits, and two brothers, William (Bill) Camp and Von Camp, and grandson Jacob Camp in heaven. He leaves behind his loving wife of over 45 years, Arminder Harris Camp, his mother, Pearl Camp, his younger siblings, Kenneth Camp, Waymon Dwight Camp, Deborah Grigsby (Turna), and Teresa Camp Willis, his children, Damion Camp, Tonya Crudup, Tommy Donnell Crudup, Jr., Charisse Dean, and Joseph Camp (Jessica), and his grandchildren, Jaylon Burnett, Kiarra Mitchell, Zoe Dean, Jera Mitchell, Jr., Jasmine Dean, Christian Dean, and Caleb Dean.
