Anthony Lee Lawson, age 60, of Glenwood, passed away on February 14, 2023.

He was born on March 1, 1962, in Little Rock, the son of Elva Jean Burks.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his mother-in -law, Helen Waite; and his father-in-law Cleo Pennington.

On July 2, 1984, Anthony married his “Baby Dumpling,” Kay Lawson. He was an ordained minister with the World Christian Organization.  He earned his Master’s in Business Administration. He enjoyed watching karate movies and westerns. He earned his black belt in karate. Everyone that knew Anthony knew how proud he was of his grandchildren and great-granddaughter. Anthony was an overcomer and will be missed by all that knew and loved him.

He is survived by the love of his life, Kay Lawson of Glenwood; his son and daughter-in-law, David and April Porter of Hopper; his grandson, Cutter Ford of Nashville; his granddaughter and her husband, Larissa and Mark Smith of Little Rock; his great-granddaughter, Belle Porter of Little Rock; his sister and brother-in-law, Teresa and Jason Walsh of Silverdale, Washington; his nephew, Christopher Walsh of Silverdale, Washington; his uncle, Freddie Campbell of Austin, Arkansas; and several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and a host of wonderful friends.

The Family will be conducting a memorial service on February 25, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Community Bible Baptist Church in Glenwood.

Arrangements are under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Home-Glenwood, 209 North Third Street, Glenwood, AR 71943.
