Anne Threet

Anne Henigan Threet, 83, passed away July 18, 2009. She was preceded in death by her husband, James C. Threet and her parents, Albert and Callie Henigan. Survivors are her sister, Jeanne McKinstry; nieces, Marcia Watkins and Margaret Wyatt of Little Rock, Arkansas; nephew Mark McKinstry of Miami, Florida and several great nieces and nephews.
Anne was a 1943 graduate of Joe T. Robinson High School and attended Ouachita Baptist University. She graduated from Arkansas State Teachers College, now UCA, in 1946 with a BSE degree and later an MSE degree in 1963.
After graduation she was employed as a Home Service Advisor with Arkansas Power and Light Company until her marriage, at which time she began her Teacher-Counselor career. She retired in 1982 after 33 years as Teacher-Counselor for the North Little Rock School System. She also worked at the Jacksonville Ordinance Plant during WWII.
Professional organizations to which she belonged include Pi Chapter Alpha Delta Kappa of which she was a life time member and was past president of the local chapter, Arkansas Education Association, and the American Personnel & Guidance Association. She was an active member of Lakeshore Drive Baptist Church where she helped in the Food Pantry. Anne also delivered Meals on Wheels.
Graveside services will be Wednesday, July 22, 2009 at 1:30 p.m., in the gazebo at Pinecrest Memorial Park, 7401 Hwy 5 North, Alexander, Arkansas with Reverend Richard Boyles officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lakeshore Baptist Church, 21 Lakeshore Dr., Little Rock, Arkansas, 72204 or a charity of your choice.
