Ann Young

Ann Haviland Young, 70, of Cabot, passed away June 4, 2016. She was born October 3, 1945 to the late Carlton and Belmere Haviland. She is survived by her husband of fifty years, Dr. W. A. Young; two daughters, Dana Chambers (Mark) and Darcy Eddington (Anthony); grandchildren, Virginia (Andy), Anna-Bel, Grace, Zoe and Asa; and numerous extended family and friends.
She was born in White Plains, New York. Ann graduated from Westchester Community College. After working for IBM in New York, she moved to Arkansas in 1966 where W.A. was finishing college at ASU. They married the following April in 1967. They were blessed with two daughters. In 1976, W.A. left his business career and went into full time pastoral ministry with Ann by his side. For nineteen years they pastored in Little Rock before moving to Florida in 1995, where they pastored at Trinity Community Church in Tallahassee for eighteen years. They retired in 2013 and moved back to central Arkansas to be with their family, which now includes two sons-in-law, five grandchildren, and a new grandson-in-law.
In lieu of flowers, we request donations be made to Open Hearts Ministries, 1308 U.S. Highway 70 W, Garner, N.C. 27529. Ann had a great passion for this ministry which serves the children in Nicaragua.
