Ann Cordelia Inman passed away at her home in Little Rock, Arkansas, Thursday, November 6, 2008. She was born October 14, 1959, in Aurora, Illinois, to Willis and Dorine Inman.
A 1976 graduate of Arkadelphia High School, Ann earned her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education degree (1978) and her Master of Science in Education degree (1981) from Henderson State University.
She has been a kindergarten teacher in the Little Rock Public Schools since 1979, with teaching assignments at Rockefeller, Central, Fair, and Hall; she was in her ninth year at Romaine Interdistrict School. With certification in English as a Second Language, Ann considered her work in increasing the language skills of all her students to be one of the most rewarding areas of her profession. In 2006, she earned National Board Certification and was currently leading workshops for other National Board candidates. Ann was a life-long Presbyterian.
Ann was preceded in death by her father, Willis Inman. She is survived by her mother, Dorine Inman of Arkadelphia; two brothers, Dean (Missy) Inman of El Dorado, and David (Priscilla) Inman of Little Rock; and her beloved nieces and nephews, Katie and Will of El Dorado and Thomas and Elizabeth of Little Rock.
Ann will be buried in the Inman family plot in Neoga, Illinois, Tuesday, November 11, in a family graveside service. A memorial service will be held at First Presbyterian Church in Arkadelphia on Thursday, November 13, at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to the Willis B. Inman Scholarship Fund at Henderson State University.
