Ann Louise Bresnahan Huber was born February 1, 1935 in Knoxville, TN to parents, Josephine Reiland Bresnahan and James Carolan Bresnahan. She died May 15, 2018, in Little Rock, AR. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gene Huber, who died April 15, 2012.

She is survived by her sister, Barbara Spencer of Skidaway Island, GA, and brother, James Bresnahan and his wife, Karen, of Delaware, OH, and children: Lisa Huber (Gideon Gil) of Wellesley, MA, Eric Huber of Boulder, CO, and Jan Britt (Eric) of Little Rock, AR. She loved her grandchildren: Liana Huber, Asa and Catherine Huber, Marie and Ben Britt. She was a generous aunt and sister-in-law.
Ann grew up in Knoxville, TN and attended Catholic High There she was editor of the school newspaper and she organized a statewide conference of student journalists. Both black and white students were invited a�" something rarely done in that era. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Tennessee and married her high school sweetheart, Gene. They moved to Atlanta, GA, in 1957, where she raised her family and earned an MS in Education from Georgia State University. While in Atlanta, she taught for almost 20 years at Christ the King School as a special education and resource teacher. She often worked one-on-one with students, especially eighth-grade boys, encouraging those who struggled with academic and personal issues. She also organized groups to help children dealing with death or divorce in their family. Throughout her life, she had a strong commitment to Catholic teachings on poverty, service, and social justice, and was an associate of the Gray Nuns of the Sacred Heart. She raised her own children to be open, intellectually curious, and interested in the world.
After retiring, she and Gene moved to Placida, FL. When Gene died in 2012, she lived near her daughters, first in Massachusetts and then in Arkansas. She died in Little Rock on May 15, surrounded by family and the sounds of "Will the Circle Be Unbroken."
She enjoyed reading and intellectual life, discussing literature, philosophy, and the lessons of history with her students, friends and family. She loved horses and music, especially Elvis, Willie Nelson, Bob Dylan, and Creedence Clearwater Revival. She wrote wonderful poetry and appreciated the absurd and ironic, especially the southern Catholic writer, Flannery O'Connor, and the cartoons of Gary Larson ("The Far Side"). She cared deeply about the fate of the earth, and was a longtime member the World Wildlife Federation. Over the years, she loved and nurtured numerous pets and strays, always ready with an eye dropper of worms for the latest rescued baby bird.
