Ann Elizabeth Hogan

Ann Elizabeth “Beth” Wood Hogan, 69, of Little Rock, Arkansas passed away February 10, 2025.

She was born January 5, 1956, in Helena, Arkansas to the late Joseph and Betty Wood.

Beth grew up in a loving home that valued education and music. Her father was a retired band director and her mother was a former teacher. Beth’s life was shaped by strong and independent women like her aunts Rhea Rhea and Ruby. She was always fiercely independent and creative and continued to enjoy creating art throughout her life.

Beth is survived by her husband of 41 years, Rick Hogan; sister, Cindy Barrington (Dan) of Maumelle; and her Shih Tzu companions, Bella and Letty.

Beth graduated from North Little Rock’s Northeast High School in 1974, and continued her education at Hendrix College where she graduated with a degree in Political Science. After college, she was accepted into UALR School of Law where she received her Juris Doctor. Upon passing the bar, Beth began her esteemed career as a law librarian for the Arkansas Workers Compensation Commission. In 1988, she rose to the level of Administrative Law Judge and served in that capacity until her retirement in 2020.

Beth delighted in the discovery of travel and commemorated it by creating memory-filled scrapbooks. She loved Broadway plays, studied the works of Shakespeare and Faulkner, and could cross-stitch with the best of them. She was an extremely talented artist who could draw and paint anything, often gifting family members with her treasured masterpieces. She loved her puppies, especially Molly, who stayed by her side as she overcame and survived breast cancer in 2002. As the proverb says, “a beautiful soul is never forgotten” and Beth will be endlessly missed by all who knew her.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Ashley Garner who cared for Beth in her final days and Pat Ingels, for the kind and supportive care she extended to Beth.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to AETN Public Television, Dog Is My CoPilot or CARE for Animals.
