Anita Thomason

Anita Thomason, age 91, of Hot Springs, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 25, 2022.

She was born on March 30, 1931, in Hot Springs, the daughter of Donald Elisha Spiva and Zelma Julia Braziel Spiva.  On March 23, 1950, she married Charles Thomason, who preceded her in death in 2016.  She was also preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, James Spiva.

Anita was a Christian and a member of Oaklawn Missionary Baptist Church.  She graduated from Hot Springs High School in 1949.   Anita worked at Happy Hollow in high school for her aunt and was a homemaker, taking great pride in being a wife, mother and grandmother.  She will be greatly miss by all that knew and loved her.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Kelly Thomason; her granddaughter, Amanda and Kenny Cates; her sister, Judy McKinney; her brother, David Glen Spiva; several nieces, one nephew, cousins, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.

Funeral services 2:00 PM, Friday, September 30, 2022, with Bro. Mike Prince officiating in the Smith Family Funeral Home Chapel, Hot Springs.

Interment will be in the Lowe Cemetery, Royal.

Visitation held from 5:00PM until 7:00PM, Thursday, September 29, 2022.
