Anita Lackey

Ruby "Anita" Lackey, 83, of Little Rock, Arkansas passed away May 5, 2023.  She was born November 12, 1939 in Lynn, Arkansas to the late James Don Norman and Bessie Winnie (Smith) Norman.

Anita loved her family more than anything.  She enjoyed traveling and going on cruises.  Anita was a wonderful cook and was famous for her pecan pie and strawberry cake.  She and her daughter, Sherry, often got together and made homemade wine.  Her fur-babies were a part of the family and adored by Anita.  Anita volunteered at her church.  She and her husband started a nursing home ministry with help from Ben, Johnny, and Crystal.  The residents looked forward to their singing and Bible studies.  

Preceding Anita in death are her parents, James and Bessie Norman; and brother, Jim Norman.

Anita leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving husband of 44 years, Tommy Lackey; son, Eddie Kling (Crystal); daughters:  Ramona Mixon (Glenn) and Sherry Kling (Lisa); grandchildren:  Dawnya (Steven), Kayla (Tracy), Jenna (Michael), and Cody (Jessica); great-grandchildren:  Chelsey, Payten, Korbyn, Haygen, Cheyenne, Brayden, Jax, and Jaci; brothers:  Thad Norman and  Dave "Dean" Norman; sister, Becky Hannah; and a host of family and friends who love Anita and will miss her always.

Services will be held at Oak Park Church, 8200 Flintridge Rd, Little Rock, Arkansas, Thursday, May 11, with visitation held from 9:00-10:00 AM, followed by funeral service at 10:00 AM.  Burial will follow at Dry Creek Cemetery in Lynn, Arkansas.
