Andrew Hall

Andrew Martie "Bud" Hall of Sherwood, born August 5, 1920, in Cabot, Arkansas, the third of five children to the late Oscar and Maggie (Barentine) Hall, died July 29, 2010.
Bud was employed for 43 years by Roach Paper Company. He was a US Army decorated WW II veteran, 42nd Rainbow Division and served during the European theatre. He was instrumental in the incorporation of the City of Sherwood in 1948. He served on Sherwood City Council 12 years, including 5 years as mayor. Bud served for forty-seven years as Fire Commissioner and secretary/treasurer of Sherwood Fire Department. He was a Charter member and former president of Sylvan Hills/ Sherwood Optimist Club and a long-time member and leader of Sylvan Hills United Methodist Church. He was an avid gardener and Razorback fan.
He was preceded in death by one grandson, Chris Hall, one brother, Ivy Hall and one sister, Violet Hall Martin.
He was survived by his wife of sixty-six years, Inez Harrington Hall; three sons, Andy (Vicki), Gary (Judy) and Jeff (Nancy)Hall; nine grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren; one brother, Jerrell Hall and one sister, Jo Ann Hall Crook; a close friend of sixty three years and neighbor, Bernard Olds, numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
On July 29, Bud passed away after a hard fought battle with cancer. Memorials may be made to Sylvan Hills United Methodist Church, 9921 Sylvan Hills Hwy, Sherwood, Arkansas 72120
His funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Tuesday at Sylvan Hills United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Rest Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday at North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main St., 758-1170. Online obituary and guest registry at www.nlrfh.com.
