Andrea Eastin Campbell 62, died on June 19, 2023, 15 years after being diagnosed with Early onset Alzheimer’s Disease.
She is survived by her loving husband of 35 years Donald K. Campbell, III; her oldest son, Aaron Campbell and his partner Jon Webb, Little Rock AR; her youngest son, Andrew Campbell, Fayetteville AR; Father-In-Law, Rev. Donald K. Campbell, II, Little Rock, AR; Mother-In-Law, Rev. Ann Williamson, Davidson, N.C.; Sister-In-Law, Sarah Campbell Arnett (Steve); Brother-In-Law, Malcolm Campbell; and numerous nieces and cousins. She was predeceased by her father and mother, Arthur and Marianne Eastin; Sister-in-law, Susan Campbell as well as uncles, aunts, and cousins.
Andrea was cared for over the years by Renota Pearson, Tommie McDaniel, Shane McDaniel, Bobbie Hughes, others helped along the way and recently by Hospice Home Care. Andrea worked at Arkansas Children’s Hospital, which was an ideal placement because of her love for children and their families. She loved nursing, was a dedicated caregiver due to the surgery and care she received as a child because of a cleft palate . She knew she wanted to work in the health profession giving care and helping in the healing process in the youngest of patients. She worked with Arkansas Children’s Hospital until 2006. Her next RN position was with UAMS-PRI from 2007-2012. In 2012, the symptoms of Early Onset Alzheimer’s Disease progressing, she retired from nursing.
She survived Breast Cancer but could not survive the unrelenting process of Alzheimer’s Disease. As in all situations in Andrea’s life she lived with grace and determination. As her memories were being taken by Alzheimer’s Disease, it never once took the amazing unconditional love she had for her loving husband, her two sons and her bonus son. She never lost her love for Motown music, John Denver, especially Annie’s Song, and peanut M&M’s and children. The twinkle in her beautiful green eyes never dimmed, her laughter which was like watching lighting bugs in a clear jar, just magical, her creative photography and her creations of outstanding Christmas tableaus will live on in each of us. Andrea’s love language was in creating wonderful moments to be enjoyed by all who were graced with her unbridled love.
There are no number of words to fully describe how she left the world a better place, all who knew her are better for it. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in her name to Westover Hills Presbyterian Church or Arkansas Children’s Hospital.
