Alvin Goodwin

Alvin Ray Goodwin, 85, passed away June 20, 2019.  He was born May 21, 1934 to Wesley and Garthenia Goodwin. He married Sammie Louise Goodwin on November 29, 1962.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years; and children, Martha Moore (Bob), Bill Hawley (Coby), Vicky Shellnut (Franklin), Chris Goodwin (Tarina) and Benny Goodwin (Jackie); daughter in law, Melinda Hawley; 12 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; one brother, B.J. Goodwin; and one sister-in-law, Willie Mae Goodwin.

Waiting for him in Heaven is his son, David Hawley; granddaughter, Nikki Brashears; daughter in law, Debby Hawley; sisters, Edna Whitehurst and Sue Sumner; and one brother, W.H. Goodwin.

He loved hunting, running his dogs and watching sports. He was known as “The Talking Man” and he loved picking on his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Visitation will be 6 – 8 p.m., Monday, June 24, 2019, at Smith-North Little Rock Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be 2 p.m., Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Pinecrest Memorial Park. www.SmithFamilyCares.com
