Alvin Davis

Alvin M. Davis, 66, of Little Rock passed away Friday, March 7, 2008. He was born June 19, 1941 in Leesburg, Virginia, raised in Williamsburg, Kentucky and lived in Graton, Ohio 45 years and moved to Little Rock five years ago where his lifelong journey ended. He retired from a forty four year career at ALCOA Cleveland Works in December 2000. Alvin loved college basketball and was a true blue fan of the Kentucky Wildcats since he was seven years old. He challenged anyone who said anything negative about them. Living in the Cleveland, Ohio area most of his years, he also grew to love the Cleveland Indians and Browns and rarely missed a game. He was very close to his children and grandchildren and always was looking for some way to make jokes with them and laugh or tell them stories. No matter where he went, he could sit down with a perfect stranger and strike up a conversation and know their life history when they parted. He was liked by many friends, both in work and play and will be missed by all.
He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Davis and best friend of thirty seven years; son, A. Mark Davis, Jr., of Elyria, Ohio; daughters, Sheri Lynn Davis, of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and Sonjia Loftis, son-in-law Doug Loftis of Little Rock; grandchildren, Jamie Davis of Boca Raton, Florida, Nick Davis of Elyria Ohio, Colby Loftis, Cody Glenn, Logan Loftis and Cole Glen of Little Rock; and sisters, Reba Raines and Debbie Dople of Williamsburg, Kentucky. He was preceded in death by his father, Isham Davis and mother, Birdia Davis, of Williamsburg, Kentucky.
A memorial service will be held in Grafton, Ohio March 29, 2008.
Services conducted by North Little Rock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 501-758-1170. Online obituary and guest register at www.nlrfh.com
