Alton Ray Pryor

Alton Ray Pryor, 81, of Sherwood, Arkansas, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on November 27, 2022 after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease. Born in Wattensaw, Arkansas to Elmer Alton Pryor and Ona Irene Tippit Pryor, Alton grew up in a home full of sisters. He was a 1958 graduate of Des Arc High School. He would marry his childhood sweetheart, Annie Jane McWhorter in 1962 and together they created a beautiful life. Alton was a member of the Faith Missionary Baptist Church. 
 
Left to cherish his memory is his beloved bride of 60 years, Annie Jane Pryor; children Duane Pryor (Sally Jo) of Cabot and Angela Anderson (Haskell) of Sherwood; grandchildren Morgan Childers (Phillip), Glory Jo Horn, Carley Anderson, Reece Anderson, and Katie Pryor; great-grandchildren Kimber Ann Stage, Lana Faye Woodrum, and the newest great-grandbaby on the way, Finley Childers; sister Sandra Webber; brother in law James Potts (Bobbie); and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.  
 
Alton is preceded in death by his parents and sisters LaVerne Potts and Marcella Tippit. 
 
A celebration of his life is scheduled for Thursday, December 1 at 11:00am with visitation to be held 1-hour prior to the service at 10:00am at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Hebron Cemetery in Carlisle, Arkansas.
