Altie Belle Williams

Altie Belle Williams, age 94, of Amity, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 14, 2024.

She was born in Amity on January 21, 1930, the daughter of John Riley Richardson and Zoe Evelyn Wheeler Richardson Sorrels. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Cary Williams; and her siblings, R.J. Richardson, Idos Richardson, Louise Atha, Mary Lois Gould, Leo Richardson, and Jerry Richardson.

Altie married the love of her life, Cary, on June 9, 1946. Cary preceded her in death on April 18, 1997. She was a member of the Church of Christ at Bethsadia in Amity. Altie worked side by side with her husband at Williams Saw Shop in Amity and Arkadelphia. She loved to square dance, especially when Cary was playing the fiddle. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, canning and entertaining. She loved to paint and her paintings, shared with family and friends, are real treasures.

She is survived by her two first cousins, Mary Alice Rocer and Nell Bardwell; her many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, and a host of wonderful friends.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, March 25, 2024, at 10:00 AM, in the Smith Family Funeral Home Chapel in Glenwood with Bro. Wallace Alexander officiating.

Visitation will be Sunday, 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM, at Smith Family Funeral Home, 209 North 3rd Street, Glenwood, AR 71943.
